It’s got an illuminated reticle and I plan to send it to SB for a dial as well after the season. The simplicity of the SB over the others with the tradition of the internal adjustments being solid was my rationale. I shoot this setup out to 600 yards for all things in CONUS and really like it.

What reticle do you use in the S&B?

And not trying to pick your post apart, as I value the first hand experience you have with the S&B, more trying to add a point of fact for clarification: The SHV's are available with capped turrets and a plex reticle; if a simple hunting scope is what you're after, what could be simpler than that?

Weird…. The link states 50mm but it is the 42mm when you click on it.

The S&B 3X12 PH is an excellent scope. I had one that was stolen along with the 300 win that it was mounted on. I liked it very much

I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first

You'll have more trouble with your CC company than with OT.

I'm doing the same thing as far as going down to a few rifles. On of those setups is a good lowlight rig. I started off with a Trijicon 2.5-10X56. Then I bought a Docter Classic 3-12X56 which I sold to Bobby and got the 3-12X50 S&B with illumination and a BDC turret. The reason that scope is for sale is I would like to try a Polar and have some extra money burning a hole in my pocket.

That's been my journey getting to a Schmidt and Bender. Personally, for a Schmidt & Bender, I wanted a turret AND illumination with at least a 50mm Objective.

Somebody buy 300MAG's S&B. I have been following it in the classifieds and I just do not need a new scope, but it is a good one at a good price IMO.

I should have bought the p3 3-12x42 I was after. One of y’all went and bought it and now they are on a 3 month back order.

Wasn't me - decided to have breakfast first and then try and get the order in and it was already gone crazy

I may be the only one - but hunted an S&B Klassik 3-12x42 last season and did not like it. To my eyes, it didn’t hold a candle to my Zeiss Victory Diavari 2.5-10x42/50s. Sold it and went back to the Zeiss on my 2 main deer rifles.

Optics Trade is great to deal with if you really want one. They say 30 days, but I have gotten mine faster.

Add me to the list of fans. Have 2 of the 3-12x42 precision hunters and they’re really all I need for probably 90% of my hunting…. They dial precisely and return to zero. Their mechanism seems a little antiquated but it just flat works. If they would make a 3-12x42 PMII I’d buy a bunch….

I have a nxs 2.5-10x42 mounted on pre-64 mod 70 based custom in Talley lightweight lows. Works perfectly. Stock is a McMillan Hunter edge. #2 Bartlein with a 1-1/4” shank.

The view through the NXS is nowhere near my German scopes but it is a bulletproof hunting scope. Never a hiccup and I dial it a lot.

Was able to snag one at Europtic and sent it straight to S&B in Virginia for a BT and parallax adjustment. Picked up a 3-12x42 Klassik with A4 reticle and it’s now on my 30-06 Fieldcraft.
