I have used the PAWS metal many times over the years and like it well enough. It does save some weight and is the proper length for '06 cartridges. I am quite sure one could remove the antelope but I've not tried it. The resultant plate would be pretty thin. One could modify a standard Mauser floorplate and replace the antelope plate with it. You would gain an ounce and a half or so. GD

no....the one I'm looking for was formerly sold at Brownells.....it was the entire bottom metal with magazine, trigger guard, and hinged floorplate. Price was around $65 and labeled P A W S.....all alloy metal and reduced weight quite a bit.

Have you tried gun shows?

I scored a PAWS antelope (now on a Husky 640 8mm) and a Browning LW (now on my Husky 640 9,3X62) at the Big Reno Show last year...$25.00 each.

They're out there.

I have a number of rifles built with the PAWS aluminum alloy casting from Brownells, and I am happy.
I have a number of rifles built with the Parker Hale aluminum alloy casting from Sarco, and I am happy.

Generally, I try to avoid Sarco, but I am ok with this product.

I got on in May 2018

M98 Mauser Triggerguard Hinged
MSR326 1 $69.95 $69.95

I have a number of them unassembled. The trigger guard / mag well with no hinge plate weighs 0.21 oz

I think Sarco screwed up not me. It is not steel.

There is Sarco Aluminum alloy bottom metal with a ram head engraved on the bottom metal of the Husqvarna 6.5-06 that I built last Sept and shot a deer in October.

There’s some nutsack over on AR that says he’s going to get a run of Mauser bottom metal made in China or Taiwan or somewhere overseas. You may want to track him down and see if he’s for real or not.

Not sure. He was catching some flack for changing his name every year or stupid [bleep] like that and being a DF in general. He seems like some asshat that was on Hunt America back in the day . But I’ve been off of the boards for quite a spell and don’t really care.
