MM, how does the finish hold up on these? I know Noveske uses them now, but the older BCG's they used to use (CMT) had one hell of a tough finish. They are slick too and run great.. I may pick up one of these for a spare.

They hold up well; the oldest one I have is a Noveske marked one that is several years old with maybe 1500-2000 rounds on it & it still looks pretty new...............minor rub on the bottom sliding rails only.

They have a unique & proprietary black nitride finishing process.

The old rough finish on Noveske BCG's was manganese phosphate...........all of Noveske's nitrided BCG's have all been RCA's which are very, very slick.

Went ahead and picked up another of these. Think I'm set on BCG's going forward now.

MM, mine is probably a RCA. It appears that Noveske starting using these BCG's in 2014. They were not marked though. Mine is definitely Nitride coated and it is the toughest coating I've seen on a BCG. If these new RCA's are as good as my Noveske BCG, I'd buy a dozen of them. I know you like these. Another thing I learned is when Noveske started putting these in their rifles, they were $275.00... That was 7 years ago. I also heard that back in the day, BCM used RCA bcg's. Is there any truth in that?

I don't know & never heard that, so who knows?

The Noveske RCA that I have has the Novekse Iron Cross logo on it.

I think Noveske is now actually saying in the product descriptions that their nitrided BCG are made by RCA, but they change the website periodically & I have been there lately............Noveske sells a lot of good stuff, but they've become badly overpriced on much of it.

Speaking for myself, that is the way to go. As most of my barrels have matching bolts that I received with the barrels when I bought them. That seems like a hell of a deal..

For awhile it was near impossible to find just a carrier or carrier assembly. Time to stock up. Again, RCA's finish is, well, beautiful.
