Just got a photo of Birthday Boy outside of his favorite gun store with a Pre 64 Winchester. Must have been good this year? A 1948 .270 by serial. He's been a good boy.  His wife says he only has three .270's so perhaps he's only curious.  Transitional? Happy B-Day!
