I thought about getting one because DA 44 Spls are difficult to find up here. I have a CA Target Bulldog, but it is too light to fire mid range or heavier loads consistently.

Iโ€™ve read the Model 69 reviews, but was curious how many of you have one, or considered it.

I have asked a gun shop here in Onterrible about availability and possible trades. Hopefully, I will hear back tomorrow.

Iโ€™m not Canadian but My bud had one and it looked like a handful with 44 mag loads. I never shot it, but he seemed to like it.

Thanks for your input! I think itโ€™s probably too light for a steady diet of 44 mags, but it is perfect for the spl.

Had a Blackhawk once...about 4 lifetimes ago. It was heavy enough to handle anything I purchased to fire in it. SA's are not everyone's cup of tea though.

True enough. When I was stationed down east, a buddy had a Super Blackhawk with a 10.5 inch barrel. Quite the heavy beast, but fun to shoot.

Evnin, had a S/W mountain revolver in 44 mag once. Heavy loads got your attention. Was more fun with 44 special. Got out of hand guns because it gave the cops the right to check your residence without a warrant. Also sick and tired of driving to range to use them. Tried a few times to get a carry permit, just for the trap line and just for 22 rimfire. Some got them but they obviously new someone I didn't. One guy got one and he only trapped muskrats in one marsh.????? Sometimes life just ain't fare. Bill. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

I have one, but have not shot it a lot yet. I intend to mainly shoot 44spl. It was OK with the Winchester 44spl Cowboy loads. I like that it will fit my 686 holster when I buy one. I have also ordered some Hogue grips which are essentially the ones on the X frames. From everything I have heard, they really make a difference on any gun they fit.

That is my intention as well. I think I will get a single action Ruger of some kind though. I like the Smith, but the 44 would be a range toy. I have two 44 rifles, and since we cannot hunt with handguns up here...

I just ordered this from Prophet River. It's a Ruger Black Hawk Bisley model in 44 Spl with a 4.62 inch barrel. Gotta help them reduce their inventory for the move.

I just received the call from Prophet River this morning. They have updated to awaiting clearance.

Tout est payรฉ et les balles sont faites aussi! Everything is paid and the bullets are made too!

This is the 152 grain WC bullet beside a 200 grain RPFN. The WC is cast from the new NOE mold I got in August.

Thank you. It's on the way. The CFO's office processed this quickly.

Steve,

I am not Canadian but my grandfather was ... does that count?

In any event, I have a Model 69 which I find very comfortable to shoot using midrange loads and tolerable with the heavies. I do not find the 69 as easy to shoot well as the heavier Model 29 but it is more likely to be carried due to it's smaller size and lighter weight. About 2000 rounds through it of mostly 265 grain Keith style cast bullets pushed to about 1050 to 1100 fps ahead of Longshot and 260 - 280 grain LBT WFN's driven within a grain or two of book max by H110 and Lil Gun. Revolver has been problem free.

Thanks guys. I might have got a Model 69, but I would have needed to order it. Prophet River had the Ruger in stock.

I have had a Dirty Harry model for many years, that is a nice one, but that Ruder looks nice too.
