Frich's Big Boy has a good fish sandwich, and a very good tarter sauce as well. We keep a pint of that at home.

For real fish, the perchwich at the Sanford Bar & Grill has always been solid or the fish sandwich basket at the Huron Fish market in Saginaw is great.

Fish House Cafe in Hilltop has a good fish sandwich. Get a side of fried okra too.

Place is wall papered inside with pics and articles of the muslim brotherhood. Some of the folk in there make it clear they don’t like whitey. If they start eyeballing me I tell ‘em it’s cool, I ain’t white, I’m a Jew.

Are you sure the tartar sauce isn't "special"?

Don't think I've ever had a fish sandwich. Not even before the Johns Mannville plant closed. Arthur Treacher's used to have decent fish and chips.

And tartar sauce..........................what the heck is that stuff anyway, Miracle Whip with relish mixed in? Really, who can eat that stuff.

Tartar sauce is a variation of sauce Remoulade. Google. Capers, shallots and gherkins or cornichon pickles in an aioli (or Mayo, not miracle whip) spiked with herbs including dill and sometimes tarragon, or whatever, usually hit with lemon juice more so than cider vinegar or any vinegar.

I don't think I've ever eaten at the Sanford Lake B&G, even though I am from nearby and visit relatives in the Sanford/ Hope area a couple of times a year.

I have zero tartar sauce qualifications. Don't really care for the stuff.

Thank you Chef.

Probably the tarragon and dill in it. Not my favorite herbs. Don't even put them in the garden I like them so little.

We don't always agree.

But when we do we're 100% correct.

Maybe 110% in today's parlance.
