I like my FXT Pro Ranch and would buy one again. The FX Pro is the single bench version, while the MX Pro is a totally different machine, more like the old-school Mules. Bill Wilson of Wilson Combat uses the FXT Pros on his ranch for hog hunts and racks up lots of miles on them. I’ve seen him talk about his mods and his experiences on the UTV forums. If they’d put a automotive transmission in them, like Honda, they’d be nearly perfect, I think. Not had issues with the Kawi transmission, but I like gears over belts

Agreed, and I've owned others. Put a 2' lift on it and your done. Solid machines. Mine is used daily for ranch work, it also goes to the Rockies in the summer for fun.

I’d stay away from Polaris. They aren’t as durable as other brands.

Op, before you buy ride each one your interested in. SXS’s are noisy and add a windshield they are even louder. Some are down right annoying. I’d get a Honda or Kubota or Yamaha. Kawasaki mules aren’t bad, depends on features your looking for.

Yup. They are great if you don't use them very much or if you're the type of guy that likes working on them all the time. Granted....there are plenty people who do exactly that.

I'm not that guy. I've got a Honda Rubicon and a 22 year old Mule.

You don't want to go far in that old Mule...it'll beat your liver out, but it still outworks everything around.

Kubota is probably a better work horse but they're damn loud.

I bought a Polaris XP570 in 2015 and have loved it. Great ride and I've had no issues with it. I service it once a year or every 100 hours.

My Yamaha Viking has about 6500 miles on it and has only had oil changes and a couple of spark plugs. Can lock front axle and rear has a locker in so always locked. Not good on nice lawns.

Get one that you can unlock rear diff, turf mode. And power steering, those will be your huckleberries.

With much respect, I disagree with your whole post.

My 2014 Mule started making a clicking sound today. It’s definitely coming from the drivetrain . I’m guessing the belt is coming apart in the transmission. It’s gas and I want a diesel . It’s the only thing I own that is a gas engine.

Looking at the Honda Pioneer 700 myself.

I wish they would offer the larger engines in the smaller sized SxS machines.

A bud has a Ranger 570. It can go right through the timber in places a larger machine won't fit, just a bit slow at road speeds.

He loves it. Went from a double row seat unit to this. The 2 row seating unit was okay but not for tight spots at all.

I don't know squat about which one is "best" but I will say that the big 1000s and such, when you get one stuck you better have a tree close enough to winch to. You may as well have a half ton pickup stuck. With the smaller 570s, etc. at least a guy can somewhat man handle it, yank the ass end one way or the other or whatever you need to do to get it unstuck if you're alone and can't winch it out.

For my general hunting and general work needs, there's no way I'd get anything other than a Polaris Ranger midsize 500 or 570, or something similarly small. They tow relatively light trailers just fine and I've used one to yank out a chained up John Deere 3025D that was high centered on a snow bank. The OP's needs and situation may very well be different I guess but that is my 2 cents.

Polaris Rangers have been really good for me. 1,000+ lbs in the bed constantly and in some rather precarious spots trying to maintain 6 mph ground speed. Stuck the last one a grand total of two times over 12 years. This new one is a helluva machine.

Been having bad thoughts about the Can-Am Defenders though. Hearing good things.
