got some ammo at the show also.
This UMC ammo must have been produced during 1895 production, 303 miniature.

Nice ammo! Those boxes are in goregeous condition for being 120+/- years old

Full patch meant jacketed back then. Jacketed bullets were often called metal patched.

That UMC box showing the cartridge with the SRAC headstamp is almost surely from 1895 to 1898. I had the same box with regular cartridges, but I passed mine along to John W. to display with his 1895's. I'm not sure if anybody has a firm answer as to whether that SRAC headstamped cartridge box is Savage Repeating Arms ammo that UMC created? I think it is because my box said it used Savage brand powder. But it could be UMC brand also that they just put a SRAC headstamp on (though that seems weird).

UMC loaded and sold all Savage Repeating Arms Co. ammunition up to 1899, I believe.

It is missing the magazine and the rear sight. It has grooves on the receiver which a 22 scope fits. The bore looks good and it's pretty clean.

Is this new enough to use modern 22 hi power ammo or does it require the less powerful stuff?
I don't think I need it. What is it worth?

My 1919 is in the 4XXX range and the stock is off by a few hundred. As the others said, Standard Velocity only.

I'm not greedy, I just want one of each.
