This is Johnson's latest book. It is set on the Rez-- and involves spirit beliefs, Aryan beliefs and some deaths that were attributed to others than those who committed them. Sheriff Longmire has been asked to look into a disturbing series of threatening notes to a Cherokee teenager and then into the girl's sister's disappearance a year before after she had received similar notes. Henry Standing Bear plays a significant role in the book.
The numbers of young women disappearing from the Rez are just amazing, and are stated to be accurate.
It is an interesting and quite revealing read. The dialogue really makes the book work well.
