Anyone have a current pricing for PPs in the States?

The breeder I talked to this week is charging as much as $2700US.

From what I have seen they tend to mirror drahthaar prices a lot. That said, I'd think $1200 to $1800 would be a pretty good range. Not saying a $2700 pup is not worth $2700, just that there should be some excellent dogs in that $1200 to $1800 price. Good luck in your search, always seemed like a great breed to me.

I don’t, but I can tell you a good friend has one and thinks the world of it on Iowa pheasants.

I have a PP already but considering buying another in the next yr or so.

The one I have is 7 and was less than half the quoted price. There are only 3 or 4 breeders in Canada.

Following. I'll be looking to get another one in a 2-3 years. You might consider calling Cedarwoods in Boise ID and having a chat. If he doesn't have pups available, he could likely point you in the right direction.

I'm in Canada. Not sure the logistics of getting a dog from the States.

Not many breeders here. I've never met another PP and in almost 8 yrs only ran across one person who knew what breed mine was.

One will have a hard time getting any good line hunting pup from a recognized breeder for less than $1500...The less popular the breed the more one may have to pay.

However, if one hangs with some who breed their own-good to good-you most likely can pay less..

No problem. laugh At the end of the day, if you get the dog you want, it doesn't matter what it costs.

When I was contacting breeders within driving distance of me 5 years ago, they were all $1500. All the breeders I contacted were listed on the North America Pudelpointers Alliance webpage. Not sure if that's changed, but I'd guess that has gone up some.

My good friend is a PP breeder. Look up Gunny’s German Pudelpointers. I think he is about $2k for a pup.

My PP, Lotte is about 10 months old now and coming along great! Send me a PM and I can get you in contact with him, if you like.

Thanks .... I will save his web site for now. I'm a bit out from buying another dog, but for now just doing some research.

The cost of a pup never bothered me. It's the costs after that which will eat your pocket book.

This. I am on my fourth lab and it seems the price almost doubles with every new purchase.

pay for the good breeding, good health certs up front and you end up saving a lot more in the end

paid 1750 for my griff this year. came with all shots, health certs, first vet check up. Breeder advised any problems return anytime and get full refund. Great experienced breeder, many years in business.
