I’ve bought this shotgun with a repaired Butt Stock, I’d like to purchase a new old stock Butt stock. I’ve have found several for sale, my problem is that the sellers cannot tell me with certainly that they will fit my gun even through the Butt Stocks were purchased from the Belgium factory inventory list in the 1940’s. They actually have the original purchase order. Does anyone here have the knowledge to tell me exactly what I need to look for as in a correct part number or catalog order number. Question 2 is that some are listed as almost finished or 99% complete, and it seems like they are talking about the internal slot cut outs inside the Butt Stock. Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks

Art's Gun Shop in Hillsboro, Missouri is the Browning go to guy. Look him up and give him a call, he will know for sure and most likely have what you need.

Art's Gun Shop has a bunch of videos on utube if anyone cares to see the people at the shop, the quality of their work and the various projects they do.

Most all Browning wood came from America I would look for a used stock on Ebay that is the cheapest route....all you really need to know is the guage.

Another vote for Arts. Some of the A5s of the 40s were built in America at the Remington plant. Not as a Model 11 but as an Auto 5 Browning. I'm sure there are some differences between the 2. I know the Belgium A5 has a much nicer finish and engraving etc...... The Nazis had control of the Herstal Belgium plant.

John Browning over saw the production of the A5 I believe he died in Belgium.
The A5 put Belgium guns on the map all because of John Browning.

The American ones didn’t have a magazine cutoff on the left side, like the Belgian ones. Also, much “plainer” overall. Not sure if there were differences in the tang that would make wood fitment an issue.
