Any other baseball fans excited for tonight? I find it fascinating we are looking at a tie for the final wild card game, forcing a game 163. Think how much statistical mass there is to get to this point and a extra game, in a must win, is needed to clinch a wild card.

Cole vs Eovaldi isn’t as sexy as Cole vs Sale but here we are. Really wish Blue Jays were still in contention. Being a Orioles fan I can’t stand Boston or NY but find myself rooting against the Yankees tonight. [bleep] em.

As a lifelong Sox fan, I am expecting their management FUX it up and the Bombers win. I hope I am wrong.

Been a Yankee fan since 1961 when Maris and Mantle were chasing Ruths record. But don’t watch much baseball on tv anymore. Hope the Bronx bombers win, but won’t lose sleep on it.

Depends what “Yankee” team shows up. They have been very inconsistent all season.

I am very much looking forward to the disappointment the Sox have caused me over the years.

If you look at the season series between them, the BoSox dominated the NYYs during the first half of the season, going 6W-0L before the MLB All-Star break and 4W-9L after, including 0W-6L in August and September. The NYYs have the momentum and will probably win, but the winning team will just go on to be beaten by Tampa. The BoSox are a team made up mostly with other teams' unwanted players, particularly the relief pitchers, so they have probably over-achieved. Head to head the BoSox won 10 games and scored 75 runs, while the NYYs won 9 games and scored 74 runs, can't get much more even than that. Inshallah.

On paper, the Blue Jays were better than either the BoSox or the NYYs, but that's why they play the games and why the Blue Jays are on the outside looking in.

It should be a great game.

A historical rivalry.

Lifelong Yankees fan here and I couldn't agree more.
I hope we're in for a good house cleaning this winter.

As a lifelong Cardinal fan I have a distinct hatred for both teams.

Is there any way they both could lose? smile

It’s the wild card game, not game 163. They are the two wild card teams. Go Yanks

I hope so to. I will be near Tampa this spring and thinking about tickets for spring training. Here now and maybe see the Rays postseason.

NL...the last real baseball...bunts, pinch hitting, deep relief pitcher stables... WTF!?!?!? Gone.

Baseball will end next season with the DH in both leagues. Easily 1/2 of baseball strategy will vanish with the advent of the DH.

Baseball is getting as pussified as the NFL. I've been a Giants fan since they moved west in 1958 and hope they win the WS this last year of real baseball. Next season...pfffttt... smirk
