That and the HST/165 are kick-ass 40 loads. I've shot three deer with them that were excited and fully ambulatory after being hit by vehicles. In two cases they were headed toward busy 4 lanes and one was headed through the woods toward a school as buses were loading. Two crossways through both shoulders and another from above, centered between the shoulders and out the chest between the front legs. None made it one stride after the hit and stayed where they fell. Solves 2-legged problems with authority.. Shuts down big drug house dogs (2-4 hits on those mofos) scrotes like to let out when 5-0 is in the neighborhood,

Having killed 12-18 deer with various mag revolvers and the 45 Colt, I was surprised how well the 40 HST works. There's not a damn thing under 400 pounds I'm afraid to square off with using the 180..

So if we have “modern” 9,40,45 bullets, wouldn’t the bigger better thing still apply?

Yeah, to a degree but when does "good enough" kick in? There's also the power vs capacity argument, too. So if a modern 9mm is more effective than the original .40 loads, is it enough?

No, no, no, they only put modern tech in them 9mm bullets.

🤣

But, in reality, good hits are good hits with any "real" caliber, and more is better.

Even the $18/50 box Government over-run works great.
