Going on top of wood laminate floor. From the book looks like I only need ember protection. I kind of like the glass looking ones. Book says .18 or 26 gauge. Looking for ideas. is this something I can get from a glass place?

Oh the insurance company will make sure it is done right. The stove store that is installing has a two page form to fill out and document. Just looking for ideas on the pad.

A 'Hardi Board", they use under tlle will work.
Our stove in Wabigoon, has slate tile under it.

In general wood burning stoves installed on any flammable flooring must sit on pads that have a specific high temperature thermal resistance. Pre-made stove boards that meet these requirements are very expensive. Hardie board has very low thermal resistance and is impractical for this purpose.
You can build up your own hearth using MICORE® 300 MINERAL FIBER BOARD or sum such. You can salvage mineral fiber boards from surplus/unwanted/free office cubicle partitions which need them for fire safety regulations

I would cut the laminate, frame a hearth, plywood, then ceramic tile it.

Praziquantel, that’s a good looking stove! What make/brand is it?
