The gun, with correct markings, issued to Custer's forces, even possessing the inspectors cartouche on the grips (not shown), and "US" engraved on the left side of the frame in the right spot (also not shown). Here's a 10 yard group. The load was my next door neighbor's (he handloads for me), and consisted of 255 grain LSWC (.452"), with 7.5 grains of Winchester 231 powder, COAL 1.6". For some odd reason I now own a Taylor/Uberti 44-40. It just looked pretty. Wonder if a .44 special cylinder will fit so I can have a convertible? Pretty gun TRH.
