Question for the gallery: did Hornady discontinue the SX line...can't find any on their website....

The 22 cal in 50 and 50 grain were listed on this page. I just searched it at 9:52 Oregon time... 10/7/21

Not discontinued but like everything…. In-obtaining!!! I ve shot 1,000 s and 1,000 s of 50-55 gr SX s over the years. Can’t beat em for splat in 221 to 223 cartridges!! And typically significantly less than plastic tipped counter parts.

BTW, I think Sierra might still make their Blitz bullets too in 22 caliber. Lead tip and just like the Hor SX. ( note, Blitz, not BlitzKing. )

I'm guessing Hornady is managed by first year Bean counters. The old guard must have left.

Since I posted this initially, they have become available...scarce but available. I was just at the range shooting some.....

the way to deal with this stuff, availability.... is exactly how I've done it when Trump was in office...

if you see it, you buy it when available, not when you are getting low..

I don't go in and buy all I see at one visit... I'll spend or buy say 3 to 5 boxes.... and if its there the next still, I'll buy 3 to 5 boxes.... and then the same thing,
the next 2 or 3 times.... by that time I am sitting on 2,000 to 2500 bullets... and figure I'm good.

This past year when it was on sale, I've picked up 25 gr HP from Midway in 17 cal. 1500 55 grain TNT from Speer ( on sale).... 1500 Sierra 50 gr SMP, AND 55 gr SMP... on sale....others also... also recently in the last 30 days.... 7,000 bullets from Midway Speer 22 Caliber in the 1000 count boxes ( birthday discount) $99 to $112 per box of 1000.

I don't look every day. I just pick it here and there on a consistent basis, when its available and the price is not a gouge...

keep your eyes open you'll find things about... especially bullets....

not that I need any, but the last time I was at Sportsman's Warehouse earlier this week, checking on something for a buddy since I was going to be by there.... noticed that they had a TON of 308, 223, and 9 mm ammo.... with pricing all over the map... from dirt cheap FMJ to fancy dancy spendy bullets...
