The 460's are reported to shoot in the 22+ fpe range, and do so accurately so long as the shooter has basic springer skills. They are a quality rifle. My guess is that they are rough on scopes, but OK with something like a Dampa mount.

Hatsan makes an underlever (the 155 Torpedo) with compression volume matching the 135 and energy in the 27-30 fpe range. They aren't junk, but they definitely aren't Diana's either. They seem sure to be rough on scopes, even with the shock mitigation Hatsan builds into their better guns. Also, I'm told that they are especially heavy.

Walther makes the LGU, which I'm told is excellent, but not particularly powerful.

Air Arms makes the TX200 and the Pro Sport. Extremely highly regarded, extremely accurate, not particularly powerful.

Weihrauch makes two excellent rifles the 77 and 97. I don't think either get to the power levels that the 460 does, but they are extremely well made, and certainly accurate.

HOWEVER - the Weihrauchs don't have anti-beartrap devices to keep your fingers from being guillotined if something slips while you're loading the rifle.
Every man needs to decide if they want to have that risk.
I think that all the others do, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

FWIW, the Air Arms and Weihrauch rifles seem to be the most popular with general shooters, and the 460 seems to be the underlever choice of hunting focused airgunners.

Some of these could start sniffing the $1,000 mark but you should be able to buy and scope any of them in your cost target.

Shop around. And take a look at Krale.com too. They can often save you some money compared to US retailers.

The RWS 460 would be my pick for a magnum underlever.
