Had a great weekend hunt with my son. He didn't have a tag so came along, spotted, helped strategize and generally just make the weekend better. Was glad he was right by my side when we were on our stalk. Saw this buck bed down and stalked to within what we thought was range. Hard to say on the wide open plains. Kept poking along and he blew out at 20 yards from us. Paused at 40 and that got him killed. Was a good day for stalking with high steady winds. Thanks all. Rifle is regulated to hit just a touch high at 100 yards with 105 grains of Swiss ffg, felt wad, .015 patch, .570 ball.
