BB, can’t help you with the powder coat, but I have 2 LBT molds ordered from Veral Smith, and they are outstanding. One is a 44 cal 260 gr. WFN plain base that I shoot out of my 44 spl, the other is a 10mm 180 gr. WFN. Both cast beautifully, with almost no break in, and are extremely accurate with the right loads. I push the 44 bullet at about 900, and the 10mm to 1250 with LBT lube with no leading issues.
Hope this helps,
Old70
Both those molds sound like what I'm looking for. I was up north near Verals place last month and wish I would have thought to stop by. He is one of the advocates of pushing a wfn a little faster for hunting I believe.
I'd like that 44 260g running at about 1200 fps from my 4" guns. I've been wanting a 200g 10mm but the 180 may be the way to go. I've ran 200s at 1200 in a 10mm and 180s at 1300fps.
I also shoot a few 40's and they have ran up to 1150 fps with 180g cast. That 180 makes sense for my 10's and 40's. Do you have any pics of what both those bullets look like? How wide are the meplats?
Thanks,
Bb
