Folks ,
I'm trying to get a new to me .243 Ruger No1 to shoot a couple of different grain bullets .
I've got Nosler 55 grain BT -55 & & 70 Varmagdedon and some 85 Partitions . I'd like to use the 85s for Deer in PA and the 55 and 70 grain bullets for coyotes .
As far as powder goes - Varget -H4350-4895-VV N135-VV 160 and I think VV N130 .
Can anyone help me ??

I'd go 4895 first... I'm not familiar with VV powders, due to their cost if nothing else., but anything Finnish is pretty darn good stuff...
I rarely use Varget due to hit and miss availability...
I am assuming, you are speaking of IMR's version since you didn't designate H in front of it like you did H4350...
I don't use either 4350 in a 243, since I get the job done with 4895, 4064, 3031 and RL 15 just fine....using less powder... and each are pretty darn accurate.

I've not shot the lighter bullets in 243 (other than some experimentation with 80 gr GMX's long ago) but I push 85 gr Partitions with 4350 out of one of my 243's. 43.8 gr works well for me. I would put a good deal of stock in Seafire's advice - lots of experience.

I used 40 grains of Imr 4350 and a 70 ballistic tip year’s ago. It was max load (nosler book). Funny that is max load with 4350, at 40 grains... my load, based off of older book loads with a 70 to 80 grain bullets, is 42.5 grains of 4064....

H 414 seemed to perform about the same. Hasbeen W760, same as H414, is my go-to 243 powder for bullets in the 58 to 85 grain range. In the heavier bullets, I have usually gotten slightly better accuracy with IMR4350..

I tried working up a load for a few 243's, and I was pleasantly surprised with RL 15 if you can find it. I don't have the data in front of me, but I think 41.5 grains of RL15 and that 55 BT shot REALLY well out of a variety of guns that me and my buddies own. The Nosler book can confirm the load, and where to start for the heavier bullets. Only reason I mention it, is because it isn't a very well known or popular choice, but man it shoots great

I've seen Varget work in a couple different rifles with the 70 grain NBT. 42 grains was a little hot in one rifle, backed it down to 41 grains.
In two different rifles, I've loaded 39.5 grains of RL15 with 70 grain Sierra Blitzkings. Both were very accurate. I used this combo in a 600 yard F-class match just for fun and I didn't win the match, but it shot pretty darn good.
