A buddy of mine just bought 12 old levers from an older gent not long for the world. Several are 30’s and 336’s. What’s a fair price for used but not abused old Marlins?

JM stamped 336 Marlins are pretty desirable right now from what I have seen, especially pre 1983 without the crossbolt safety.

Also from what I've seen 336's in .35 Remington go for a good bit more than 30-30's, about $200 more.

I have 2 336's in .35 Remington, 1960 vintage and 1980 vintage, both in very good condition, and if I had to sell them, there is no way I'd take less than $800 for either of them.

Additionally, I had a 3rd 336, also in .35 Remington, 1972 vintage also in very good condition which I gave to Qtips nephew. When his nephew told a co worker what he had the co worker offered him $750 for the gun sight unseen.

While values are up, it seems that the market is stagnant,
I had a Marlin 336SC in 35 Rem posted for the $750 that I paid for it last year and it didn't sell.

336 JM and pre lock in 30-30 I would say 800, 35 rem $1000, old, Texan, etc more.

Problem here is I never see them for sale so when you see one you pretty much have to pay or not have one.

Very seldom see the nice older ones for sale. So prices you see are for people who really really really want them.

depends on where you are selling it and to whom you are selling. online gunbroker, etc, who knows. probably $600+. around here i see them on the LGS racks for under 500 usually so if you sold it to them, it would bring 250-300. prices are all over the place. models are different as well. A, SC, RC, CS, etc. i would think if you were selling a mint 336 RC in 35 you should be able to find someone to give you 600 bucks for it. probably more online.

Didn't pay more than $450 for any of the Marlin 336SC's or A's that I have . . . . Most expensive one, at $450, was a 336A in 32 Spec.

I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.
