Helped a pard this week harvest a great coues. We were after a bigger one but movement was tough this week so he settled on the second best buck we saw.

First hard horned buck we saw all week. All still in velvet. That'll change on an hourly basis....

That’s a nice buck, congratulations.

From the little I know about Coues, that's a good one! Pretty neat picture too.

Yes. Pretty crazy. Snakes are bad. Grass and vines knee high. They bed, they are gone....

Nice buck Greg. I helped my nephews on a youth hunt the past week. We hunted hard for the opportunities we got, not a lot of movement out there. All the bucks we saw (mule deer and coues) were in velvet.

Yeah, on average it was a very slow week. Big grinder, like it seems most coues hunts are but very rewarding...

We had epic record drought this past spring/winter followed by the third wettest monsoon in 100 years...

This buck had large amounts of fat. I'm just happy for the condition of the deer. The deer antlers and their late stripping of velvet are indicative of his. I'm just happy for the deer herd and antler growth looks good...

Congrats to your bud on a nice deer. I miss chasing them, I was stationed at ft huachuca hunted them every year. Deer tags were all but guaranteed. I should apply next year, still have friends down in Sierra vista.
