I've ran mine with RL 15, but the most common load is with 4064.

I ran the 120 nbt in my 260 with H4831SC and accuracy was great start at 47 and work up. A drop tube is handy. Win 760\H414 is really good as well as H100V which I abandoned after reading about its temperature sensitivity. Never tried 4064 with 120s used it with 100s and had good accuracy RL 15 was fairly accurate with 100s as well.

The 120 nbt has always been great in my 260s easy accuracy and a good hunting bullet to boot. I tried some factory 120 nbt ammo and accuracy was just okay.

Good luck and shoot straight y'all

Interesting how many 260's there are out there. I have only shot the 120 gr. Ballistic Tip at a smallish hog and targets. Very accurate out of my 260 but it seems to shoot everything well other than a few overly long 140 grain match bullets. If I were to allow that 260 to encroach on my 257"s duties I would use the 120 BT.

I use R17 under the Nosler 120’s. Under the Nosler 100’s I use IMR 4064 for best accuracy.

Well, I have a little over a pound of IMR 4064, so I will give it a try. I planned on running a ladder test today with 120 BT’s and RL-16, but my plans were changed for me. I will eventually get to it. I have 10 more months before caribou season.

Hudge,

With 4064 and the 120s...I use either CCI or Federal primers, regular Large rifle..

The charge I use is any where from 40 to 42.5.. 42.5 gives me right at 3000 fps out of a 22 inch Ruger Stainless barrel.

People who know me on the campfire know I use a lot of 4064....

its always accurate, and gives good velocity, not far below what slower powders like 4350 RL 19 etc yield, in about ANY cartridge I use it in...

I'm getting low when I get down to about 20 pounds or less of the stuff...

Has anyone ever sectioned one of these? I know there was a lot of this done with the 6mm 95gr Ballistic tips and there's was a lot to learn on that.

Seafire,

Thanks for the tips. I will get some loaded here in the near future and test them out.

I thought I had loaded some 120 BTs and RL16 for a ladder test recently, but I must have dreamed it. I looked though all of my .260 stuff and it’s no where to be found.

I killed three white tails in two years using the 120 gr. Ballistic Tip out of my 6.5 Creedmoor at approximately 2900 FPS. No problems and two exit wounds broadside. The only one that didn’t exit was on a deer facing me for a chest shot. I didn’t find the bullet, however. Don’t worry about that bullet. They work!

I did manage to find some dies for my 260 today but still no bullets in any Hunting type that I can use. My rifle has a 1:10 twist so I want to stay in the 110-125gr ranges. I have a good supply of factory ammo right now but I'd like to go ahead and find something that works so I never have to pay $45 a box again
