Do you think this is a KS? The description is very generic. Thanks! https://www.gunbroker.com/item/912786197

Sure seems so. The seller could have showed the end of the box with the actual info rather than the other random box photos and cleared a lot of things up.

April 1996?
I'm going to say yes, but there are a few on here far brighter than I am on these rifles. They'll be along shortly.

I asked him and he said it came off. I did a little research and was kinda certain it was a KS but not 100%. He says a 24" but arent they 22" barrels?

Barrel markings look a little off to me.
I believe it should have said Custom Shop on top of the barrel too.

that was a concern, but it seems its not always on the rifles. It does have the hand stamped caliber, which seems to be a custom shop indicator.

What about the 2 "X" between cartridge stamp and receiver?

No, not from that era. It’s correct.

I’m going to backtrack here. Nothing about that rifle is correct. It’s a cobbled together POS. Sorry you got so taken on it. I’ll help you recoup some losses - you can sell it to me cheap.

Also when did they switch from putting Custom Shop guns in the standard brown box shown to a box that actually has Custom Shop on the print of the box itself?

What about the 2 "X" between cartridge stamp and receiver? Nice rifle! Any clean stainless KS is a real find these days and that one looks pretty good. In regards to the barrel stamp, I've seen some like that on the stainless rifles before, I think the guys in the Custom Shop liked putting some extra stamps on them I remember one in the classifieds a few years ago that had a similar stamp, also a stainless KS.
