I had Mohs Micrographic Surgery this morning on my right anterior scalp for basal cell carcinoma. Being fair-skinned and folically challenged is not a good combination. Use sunscreen on the top of your head, folks. Better yet, wear a hat outdoors.

My doctor has already advised me about sun on my noggin. It's good advice for old guys like me whose bald spot gets bigger every year. But fortunately I always wear a hat outdoors. In the summer it's even better if the hat helps keep your ears in the shade also.

Yes. Baseball caps were the worst practice that farmers started using, they are no substitute for a traditional broad-brimmed hat.

Twice here. Beside left ear, on collar bone maybe 2 years later.. I get all my spots, warts, tabs and anything else suspect checked at least every 2 years now. But I did call both mine prior to the Dr visit.

I hit every one of the danger points, including fair skinned and lots of sunburn as a kid.

Have to see my Dermatologist every 9 months for a full checkup. Lots of damage on my scalp from when I was younger and other spots I have to watch. I am high risk I guess. Know a couple people who have died from Melanoma, no joke.

Many sun-block products are bad for your skin , zinc-oxide is suppose to be the safe thing to use . Never use sunblock products day after day , same with bug spray Off & such .

I went to the Dermatologist 7:30a on Tuesday - have about 15 blister spots on my face/head/chest/hands - freeze them off Dr. says the spots have a 10% chance of becoming cancerous .
$430 buckaroos worth of liquid nitrogen shot through a fancy stainless pistol .
Squamous & Basil Cell so far - oh Lord don't let me catch the Melanoma's
89,90,91,92 years I owned a Tanning business & Jet-Ski rental , every day in the sun March 1 - Sept. , and yes I laid in a tanning bed to see if it worked - it did . Us dummies thought a Tan was cool

I'm old school, stubborn and I have a pretty good head of hair at 52, but I bought a hat with a full brim to wear fishing.

I don't need to find out firsthand about skin cancer.

Youth seems oblivious but as we age and they start cutting stuff off our skin then it gets real. I had 1 Mohs surgery on my forehead about 5 years ago. Wasn't fun and snce I am outside almost every day fishing I always wear a hat and long sleeve shirt. On some days I use one of those fisherman face covers. I go once a year to the dermatologist and they always seem to have stuff they freeze off. Damage was done when I was young and didn't fear anything.

I’ve had a mohs procedure as well. Don’t expect it to be my last. Burned to a blister too many times as a kid/teenager

You have my complete sympathy. I’ve had several cut off my temple. It’ll probably end up getting me. Worked outside all my life.
