EHD hit the area where I hunt pretty hard a few years ago then starting the next year a 3 does per day limit has pretty well limited the herd in the vicinity.

The whitetail herd has taken a near 100% mortality rate in portions of the NW corner of the state. It will take a decade for the numbers to bounce back under good conditions yet the Game and Fish department in its infinite wisdom is proceeding with the rifle season tomorrow. ND is managed by units so they could shut down the impacted portions of select units. They offered to buy back tags but that $20 isn’t much incentive to deter those who don’t care enough about the long term health of the resource to lay off a season. Unit 3A1 has some mule deer in it (they aren’t impacted by EHD) so those will get hammered since they are an easier target anyway. The future ain’t bright for deer hunting back home!

Sorry to hear you got hit.

We got hammered here by EHD in some areas too. In one area I hunt, by going off sightings and trail cam pics, I'd say whitetail numbers are down a minimum of 80% and likely more... To give you an idea, places where I normally get pics of whitetails almost daily, went to weeks without a deer walking in front of the camera. Bad deal.

There are too many deer in the first place thats why they die off

Maybe they died of covid

I get a kick out of these Supremacist and their stupid quotes like “infinite wisdom”

Hunt till you can’t hunt no more !
