375 Marlin for elk #16479740 09/28/21 Joined: May 2014 Posts: 277 Mass M Masshunter OP Campfire Member OP Masshunter Campfire Member M Joined: May 2014 Posts: 277 Mass Planning an Elk hunt next Oct. Will be hunting timber so shots will be close..Anyone use the 375 Win.for Elk ? My go-to for Black bear and Whitetails has been 35 gr of RL7 and a Hornaday 220gr bullet.

I used 250gr bullets, Winchester power points. The 220gr Hornady's should work fine, but I would prefer the heavier bullets.

Some spelling errors can be corrected by a vowel movement. ~ MOLON LABE ~

My stash is dwindling I’ve only shot deer with my 375 with 250PP and the hornady. I’d use either on elk.

I would use the 250 pp on Elk at close range, or the 220, like your suggesting. It's all about shot placement, as you know! I Learned a long time ago to Separate My Want's from My Needs! The only factory ammo I have seen recently was 200 grain winchesters. The gun shop had them priced at $100, and said they were selling well.
