Bought these rings many (20ish) years ago. I forgot who the manufacturer is. These are medium height rings. I have a set of the same in low mounted on one my Ruger 10/22s. Hopefully they're not discontinued and still available. I would like to buy another pair of lows for the kid's 10/22.

Hey guys. I’m trying to dial in my dads M77 rifle I inherited. it had an old redfield 3-9 that I took off and put on a new burris. Anyways one of the screws on the ring has the head stripped where I can’t torque it down and I can not find a replacement . I Found the right thread pitch and all, but the screw head was too big to fit into the hole.
Before I buy new rings can you help me identify manufacturer or where I can get the proper screw.
Thank you

All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

Okay smartypants, as an added bonus the mounts are on a model 71.

Adjustments are in the mounts.

Dre, what is the thread size, 6-48, 8-40? What is the screw head diameter?

I,ve got a Forster gunscrew assortment that might help you out. These are slotted Filster head, not socket head like in photo.

Otherwise, Brownells might have what you need. https://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-...tools/replacement-sight-screws/index.htm

You could use the torx screws for Leupold rings?

They look like Redfields to me.
Their contour was a little different than others.
Id look at Brownells or Ebay for direct replacement screws.

However, I may have some you can have. Gotta look and see. Might have pitched em.

Ideally, somebody makes a torx upgrade. But who knows.
I redid my Ruger factory rings w the newer Torx.

Your old non integral 77 is running non Ruger setup.

Thanks for offer and info.
I need to find my notes what threads they are now and I’ll measure the head diameter.

I also have a bunch of various cap screws that might fit. You can always turn the head diameter smaller with a file or stone. Just chuck the screw in a drill...

If those are Ruger rings, you might call Ruger and see if they will send you a new set.

Dre,
Those are most likely 8-40 screws. Another option is to go to Brownells website and buy an 8-40 tap and die (may be available other places too), to clean up the threads of the screw and screw hole. They ain't cheap, but can come in very handy for just these kind of situations.
