I do think him dying of Covid and being vaxed is a talker, and a big negative to the get vaxed crowd. Sadly we are seeing a lot more of this lately, and I pray it keeps more from getting the jab.
I totally respected his service to this country. But he made a serious blunder on Iraq and never atoned for his misjudgment which lead to war.
Politics was not his strong suit.

I don't know how I feel about all that. Either he was given bad info and believed it, or knew it was bad info and went with it, but I tend to think either way he was acting at the request of Bush (read Cheney) to lay the footing for war. I think some could argue he was being a loyal soldier to the Commander in Chief
I don't think Colin Powell (at that time) was the kind of guy that would call up China and tell them to ignore the president.
Clearly Powell soured on being used by Bush/Cheney and then he went all in on Obama. Lost alot of conservative supporters who helped bolster his career up to that point.

Yeah, it is extreme and I was conflicted about saying it, but he was a supposed republican who voted for Obama and Biden. I'm done pretending to be OK with people like that.
I will say that I respect his service and hope he didn't suffer.
He was a prime example of a check the block minimal amount of time on the line and maximum amount of time on staff officer. Was even Brigade commander of the 502nd Infantry Regiment... But he aint a Blackheart AFIAC.......
