Was able to fill an antlerless tag with my longbow. 110 lb doe (clean dressed) 2 antlerless and a buck tag left. The warm start of the season was slow. Starting to cool down and action picking up here in VT.

How’s everyone doing so far?

Sounds like a nice sized doe.

Thinking of finally getting out maybe Monday or Tuesday now that it's finally getting cooler in the northeast.

At least you’re seeing deer. Here it’s hit of miss. Can easily go days or weeks without seeing any!

Shot a doe with my Boomer-Cheater xbow on the 25th. Two hours in the tree, first one in the dark. If I could cock that thing aloft, coulda had another, as the others just stood around, then walked past me at about 15 yards. Waiting for it to cool down before I go back. Getting close to the rut, I think. Still have two tags, and my Earn-a-Buck ticket is punched for the year.

Thanks! My shot distances are short here, under 25 yards it’s not much of a handicap. After that, I won’t even try.

I drew a permit to hunt in a suburb Minneapolis cull hunt.
I arrowed a six point and two anterless.
