Went to WV to work on the bunk house this weekend. Mid morning we were talking, running screw guns, skil saws, just making a ton of noise. John says, "look out the window". The window was to my back so I glanced out over my left shoulder, and didn't see anything. He repeated himself two or three more times, and I finally stopped and turned to face the picture window. There were Turkey's just pouring out of the woods. We had 11 feed right up to the window, not more than 20 feet. Saw more moving around in the woods. We have had a terrible time with Yote's up there for the past 8-10 years. The Turkeys just vanished. It's really nice to see a flock that made it through the summer. The locals have been working on them, the Coyote's, must be making a difference. We could hear them singing last night at dusk. I wouldn't mind taking a Yote with one of the three guns I'm taking out this year. Progress on the bunk house is coming along. We have baseboard heat, lights, wall plugs. Wall insulation is in and most of the paneling is up. Starting to move stuff from the old trailer down. First thing was my fold up dining room table. I think we will be well pleased in the new place next month.

Love it when them turkeys wander right up to ya. Had them do that quite a number of times up on my land, but we usually have a bunch around every year.

Nice. Haven't seen that many turkeys around here in a long time. 👍 There were a lot of them around maybe 10-15 years ago, but they seem to have really thinned out since then.

I think it has been a combination of coyotes, and then eagles and hawks making a big comeback around here. Lucky to see more than 2 or 3 turkeys together now.

few years ago, I had 40acres in the middle of 280 acres of wooded ravines ect, the 40 was a neglected hay meadow, we cleaned it up, made a perfect spot for the deer blind, I don't think the turkey had ever seen humans for a very long time, they would get very close, it was like the old saying shooting fish in a barrel, after the 1st one I didn't care to shoot any more. was fun to watch, and I am not fond of wild turkey.

Well, we slept in the bunk house Saturday night. The two baseboard heaters kept it toasty at 46* outside. The walls are all insulated, but the ceiling is not, and it won't be before deer season. We may get 2 ceiling fans up to help keep the heat down. If we need to we can fire up the Mr. Buddy propane heater to take up the slack.

Tim, it’s a garage package, 12’ X40’, a little bigger than the old house trailer it’s replacing. It was 8’X42’.
