I have a buffalo horn scoop that has been passed down in my family and I would like someone who knows their stuff to tell me what it's for and what tribe etc.

We believe this is where the native blood comes from in my family tree and things are a little fuzzy with the details.

I have some pics i can send if that helps.

Thanks

Jack would be a sure winner, if he’d stop quitting the Fire every three days.

It is for eating or serving food, stewed type food. Can't tell which tribe without seeing how it is decorated and it likely isn't decorated if it was a daily use item and not for ceremonial use.

What no museums in Ohio? Surely some institution of higher learning in Ohio has a knowledgeable person. Here in Nebraska we can use the Indian reservations or State Historical Society.

So, an ancestor had sex with a buffalo, and the horn is from a great, great, great grandfather...or mother. And you want to know the name of the tribe the buffalo was from?

Do your ancestry DNA before you pursue any further. There is an epidemic of white folk wishing or thinking they are native only to find out they are native to Scotland.

I have carnal knowledge of at least one Indian lady. Your buffalo horn scoop is Lakota, or not.
