OH....HELL....NO....

Know fat, know flavor. No fat, no flavor.

I tried going vegan, but then realized it was a big missed steak.

Isn't that a 5-way?

Had it multiple times, not a fan.

If I want something good from Cincinnati, I go for Graeter's french pot ice cream. Best freaking ice cream on the planet.

My family in eastern NC or anyone I know in eastern NC can't stand livermush but us folks in the western part of the state love it even most folks that don't like liver love it. Go figure.

Had to Google it to confirm a hunch.
Livermush is pretty much scrapple, except it has to be 30% liver.

That's a bit strong on hog liver for me.
I'd try it though.

I like chocolate in chilli.
It's one of those thing that bring something, but you won't taste chocolate.
Like most spices should be used.

Hate, sausage, or pies that taste of flavorings.

Pumpkin Pie spice is an additive. A supporting cast.
Not the primary actor.

Rant over.

PS. Doesn't apply to Cumin, chilli powder, garlic.

Ever had a good mole’?

Kinda a dark toasty Mexican Chile sauce with some cocoa, usually a bit of dried fruit like raisins, and hell, maybe a bit of cinnamon. A good mole’ is some of the greatest eats ever.

Sorry IB. Sure don’t mean to rag on your eats. I need to give it another try.

I have. And I liked it. A lot...! Mamacits’s on NASA Rd. 1 in Webster, TX made their own mole’ and I’d get it on my enchiladas all the time. We used to go there a lot between 1993 and 2001. I still remember how good it was.

When my MIL was alive and we'd go to Cincinnati to visit, at least one night was reserved for Skyline and then Graeters .

They do make pretty good ice cream.

Mooner,
Nope never ate a mole.
Had a bunch of voles last year, not much meat on 'em though.

Seriously, never had a molé.
Should try making one sometime, gotta recipe?

The Apple Pickers bought out the store in Schellsburg a few years
ago. That little store has become interesting here in hillbillyville.
Street tacos and other stuff to go.
All kind of Products not found in any grocery for 50+ miles.
And a big darn display of dried peppers, some never heard of before.

Plus, they cleaned it up, expanded, and put in (nice) bathrooms.
Ironic, some won't go to "That Mesican place". Even though they
run it better than the shady people that had it before.

All that to say i can finally get some of the stuff i might need,

In all honesty, they should call it Cincinnati Mock Chili, or Faux Chili, or Something Kinda Sorta Like Chili But Not. The only thing they got right was not including beans in the recipe.

Now, that said, some genuine chili on spaghetti would be fine indeed. Call it Italian Texas Red.

Midwestern meat sauce? It doesn't sound very good but I'd try it I guess.

Chili with beans is the original chili.

Probably with goat instead of beef too.

I think a big can of Ranch Style Beans added to a pot of good chili often makes it even better.
