I just realized that I am basically a 225lb squirrel.
Spend all summer gathering feed for the upcoming la Nina winter.
Anyway, I am putting along with the final bales on-board da ol' 74 IH Loadstar.
A squirrel and his nuts. Yep - get heatstroke all summer, bringin' it in. So you can get frostbite all next winter, puttin' it all back out !

Nice Sam, when do you start feeding if you haven't already? Neighbor about 9 miles down the road toward town. Got his last cut on that pasture about 3 weeks ago maybe? Turned 40 some head out there, most have dropped "fall" calves now, some already had theirs when he turned them out. They've about eaten the remnants down so he's getting into his bales now. Grass in that pasture, alfalfa on this side of the road I'm parked on.

Most here are starting up or already have it seems. One bigger operation got one of those grinder things this year, didn't have it last year, the first year after they bought the 8K acres and built a feeding station. They've had cows over there for a few weeks now. Rancher neighbor has his herds on his alfalfa pivot pastures for a few weeks now, maybe more than a month now that I think about it. Haven't seen any bales out there yet, so he hasn't started those herds on feed yet. Y'all have an interesting lifestyle, that's for sure. Interesting thing, now some of the range is greening up as we've had some rain. My outside the fence stuff has grass coming up all over.

Hoping to get done tomorrow. Having your hay 40 Miles one way of the roughest gravel roads in the world isn’t much fun.

Now that’s funny Back in Grad School I was visiting a girl from the University of Texas, left her dorm room early because I was supposed to help another girl with a bird survey. Once in the woods one thing led to another and she said to me “It’s been a long time for me, has it been a long time for you too?”. Of course I said “Why yes, it has.” What I wanted to do was look at my watch and say “Oh I dunno, 3 1/2 hours maybe?” Extra points because it was still morning, prob’ly the motorcycle had something to do with it.
