Assuming it was milled for post mil parts like you stated in an earlier post.
Do we know that it was?
That would be a leap of faith for me to pay 1000 dollars for that gun sight unseen. The lack of a groove for the safety highly suggests it was. Can’t think what else it would be.

Could absolutely be legit.
I'm always the skeptic on the unusual I hear ya, that's why I asked the seller for pictures. For those who aren't quite sure what I'm referring to with the groove on the bottom, here's a picture of a late 50's 99F and a 99C. As you can see, the 99F lever safety has a groove on the bottom of the tang that it slides back and forth in. The 99C on top, like other post-1960 tang safeties, didn't have that groove.

Me? No. Thought long and hard about it.. probably should have. In the last 2 weeks, I've seen or heard about: 1) A premil receiver finished as a tang safety postmil 2) A 1980 99E in 250-3000 3) A 1968 99E action with a 99DL barrel in 250-3000 on it 4) A 1975 99C with 250-3000 barrel It's getting strange out there.
