It’s the same rifle for 31 years.....same caliber for 40 years! That rifle is used for all of my big game hunting! memtb

Hmm. I have 2, but I don’t care which one I would end up with. Tc venture in 270 win. with vx2 3-9 CDS. 130 ttsx and it also shoots 140 SST almost identically. Or Tikka t3x ss SL in 6.5 CM with meopta 3-15 shooting 130 TGK. F it. Surprise me
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.

These "if you could only have one" threads are pretty damn disturbing.. I don’t think I could get down to 10 much less one. ha ha.. Yeah, I hear you. I've had 10 30-06 rifles at one time... I might be able to live with 1 rifle in every caliber and cartridge. But that would still be stretching it..
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

ONE?
I can't even wean myself down to low triple digits, can't even imagine only 1, but if I could it would be Larry Koller's 1920 in 250-3000 with a Lyman Alaskan.

Ok, if you could have only one deer rifle for all of your deer hunting, what would it be?
I think mine would be my Kimber 84m 308, 3-9 leupold compact and 130TTSX….you? This, except I haven’t tried the 130 ttsx’s …

Taking out family guns…..
A quality CRF action rifle in a 7mm configuration with a high end scope. Quality synthetic stock, trigger and mounts.

Hi: Keeping in mind that I hunt in the northeast, the one rifle would be a model 1894 Winchester in .32 Special with a Lyman tang sight made in 1929. Has a half magazine and weights approximately 6 1/2 pounds. It is ideal for the areas that I hunt.

Kimber Montana 7-08 w/ VX2 2-7X33, pushing 120 TTSXs. Press the trigger, schit falls dead.

Winchester 1892 in .44 mag. Not a long-range rifle, but it hits like a sledgehammer within 150 yds and good handloads. I like the challenge of open sights also. I hunt with primarily .44 revolvers with open sights. Next to bow-hunting, it’s quite an Adrenaline rush
