My first question is whose going to carry them, you or a horse? My experience elk hunting was up to 11,000 feet in CO. where there wasn't enough air for a flat lander to breathe and I walked. We hunted public land, third season and anything with antlers qualified. Elk are big animals and seeing them wasn't a problem, so mine didn't need to be magnified with great binos. A pocketable Swarovski 10x25 was all that I ever needed. Sure, if you are glassing looking for an elk get bigger, brighter ones. Weight matters out in the mountains if you carry your own stuff if you aren't use to that altitude. My elk were killed at 50, 75 and 250 yards.

My other auto is a .45

The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory
