I have a stainless .338RCM Ruger Hawkeye short action and I want to lengthen the magazine up to around 3.1" for a useable OAL of 3.050". I want to switch from 225 grain to 250 and 300 grain projectiles. I know its been done before, does the bolt stop/ejector have to be modified? What else besides a longer box needs to be done? Thanks.

Load up some dummy rounds at the length you want. Single load one and see if they eject ok. If yes then your done. If not then you have more to do. Let us know how that goes.
