An elderly friend of mine has a very nice condition M101 made in Italy Beretta with the 6" barrel and adjustable rear sight. He has not shot it in years, but I cleaned and lubricated it last year for him and shot about 50 rounds through it, so I know that it is in perfect working condition and real nice physically too. Two of us used it to qualify for our Florida CCW permits and that was another 40 rounds of Winchester HP ammo through it as that is all I had in a bulk quantity. I already have a S&W M34 and the wife has a Browning Buckmark, so I don't really need or want another .22 pistol. I don't see any on Gunbroker as he is thinking of selling it. He asked me the value, but I said that I didn't know, but that I would run it by the handgun guys on the forum. Thanks.

I like all Beretta pistols and have new and vintage models. I like the M-101, 22 cal. pistol.

Three Beretta 101 pistols turned up at Scheels several years ago. The first I was ever aware of them.
Each one being slightly different. All were in excellent condition and (I thought) surprisingly in-expensive!

I saw another M-101 just recently at Scheels that I also passed on - in nice condition, and in-expensive.
That said - I just found listed on Guns International.Com:

For Sale - Beretta Model 101 - Target Pistol - 22 LR
Excellent Condition - Circa. 1969
Price: $699.00

I think that price is crazy high! - - - A fairly recent Blue Book of Gun Values lists:

BERETTA MODEL 101:
100% - $250
90% -- $165
70% -- $140

I think those prices are way low. I don't think the M-101 pistol is considered a 'collectable'
as 'collectable' prices go. But If one was really near perfect, I'd pay $350 +.

I did a little more looking around and there was one on the Internet that sold for $370. that looked like it had more wear than Corey's does. He is 88 years old and I'm sure that it was only out of the house once when we went rabbit hunting years ago. He keeps it in a pile lined glove in a paper bag if that gives you any indication how much of a gun guy that he is. He lives across town, but I can get it and take a bunch of photographs if you are serious about buying it you could PM me. It is probably a target model what ever that is, but it isn't real heavy and kind of Luger like with an exposed hammer. It never jammed once when we shot it and those were all Winchester hollow points for what it's worth.

Very nice pistol, the Mossad hunters after the Olympic deal years ago used them to hunt down and terminate the perpetrators. That said they are a bit hard to sell but should bring at least $250.00 IMHO.

They are outstanding pistols; I find them to be highly desirable. They are NOT cheap though, so if you're finding one cheap, I'd jump on it.

Well, my friend passed away and I was over at his widows house today and she wants to sell his firearms. Just an old Stevens 124C and a Mossberg 835 3.5" 12 gauge with a slug barrel and 28" vent rib barrel with chokes. BUT, his Beretta 101 .22 pistol was there (here now) too in rather outstanding condition. I showed it to the wife and she likes it being much lighter than her Buckmark which we sold off. Asking again if this is worth having personally or is there any interest from the Fire guys?
