I'm so old that "afternoon delight" means a bowel movement. My birth stone is lava.

I was watching cartoons on some Dallas station, I think a
it was Sunday morning.
Jack Ruby suddenly shot Lee Harvey Oswald.
I thought it was pretty strange.

I well remember running on fumes because I refused to pay any bandit .31 cents for a gallon of gas.

Today a nurse gave me a flu shot and couldn't figure out what the circular dime- sized scar was on my shoulder.

Wow. I fit a lot of those.
I remember when the first Ruger 10/22 came out and Bill Ruger was the new guy in the block.
Also had a party line - 2 shorts/1long and only had to dial 4 numbers for a local call.
All us pre-teens had our own 22s we went out after school with, by ourselves.
Lead paint on the window sills was ok for teething toy.
White walls were “cool” and no one had air conditioning.
White walls were a recent haircut also.
Criminals were on death row for months not decades.

And the air conditioner was a knob you pulled to open vents for introducing outside air.

A windshield defroster was a semi-clean rag.

When I started pumping gas in our service station, regular was $ .25, ethyl was $ .26, and premium was $ .28 per gallon.

And yes, it was a service station. "Check under your hood ma'am?"

Check the oil, tire pressure, wash windows, and top off the burlap water bag hanging from the front bumper.

Any of you whippersnappers ever even heard of "ethyl"?

If not - get the hell offa my porch dammit.

I’m so old, I remember the smell of new blue jeans on the first day of school. And ink wells in each desk.

Anybody beat this? Wabigoon might get the OM prize today.

I remember my Dads 63 F100 Longbed Unibody that the doors used to pop open going around curves due to the flex of the body. You just knew to hold on and no one ever fell out, even before seatbelts and kids carseats. Jeeze--how did we survive?

I'm so old, when God said "let there be light", it ruined my night vision.
