I've used Leopold for the most part but am not sure of the newer ones. I want a 4-12, or close that for my .270. I aim to use it elk hunting next year and have been using it for whitetail for a long time. The one that's on it right now is an older Leopold 2.5x8 and it's still good but as I get older I like the higher power of the 4-12. Suggestions please.
Thanks

I bought a Meopta Optika5 4-20x50 RD can't wait to try it out soon for deer season. Installed it on my .308 it replaces the Leupold VX3i 3.5-10x40 it will go on my .45-70 single shot.
Take a look at Meopta scopes.

You should be able to pick up a Zeiss Conquest or Swarovski Z3 for under your posted budget price.
