I'm so old I remember when you could order a gun from the Sears catalog and have it delivered to your door. No background check. No 4473 to fill out. You know, back when we still had some of our constitutional rights. Of course all of these new laws were worth it, since they've practically eliminated crime.

I'm so old that I also recall the mail order gun days...... Back about 1960, when I was 10, my pals and I were gonna pool our money and buy a .30-06 for $9.95 through the mail. It was a not exactly mint old military bolt gun, probably one of those beat up, re-chambered South American Mausers. Only problem was that as kids, none of us were allowed to own something like that and we couldn't find an address to ship it to. Sure as heck couldn't have one of our parents wondering what was in that big box that came today.
