Congrats on the bear and a great write up. Just curious you stated you aimed higher since the shot was downhill. That’s opposite of what you should do though.

It was like I was there !!!! 805 I didn’t want to be “THAT” guy but that’s my understanding of shooting at a steep angle high or low , Aim low....

Great hunt, Great photos & Great read. Did you see any turkeys? Hopefully, I'll draw a spring gobbler tag there------I usually hunt Apache Canyon. Which campground did you stay at?

I wanted to make sure I got the spine and the lungs. So I held slightly high. Had a I held low I would not have got the spine and he wouldn't have dropped straight down. I had no desire to have to track him and knew I would lose sight of where he was while walking over.
