I think you'll find you like them in the .280. Pretty much all I used to use in a .280 Remington Mt. Rifle. (I did use IMR350 though with very good velocity and accuracy).

I killed two bull elk with the 140 BT in a 7 mag, broadside through the ribs, 150-200 yards....they flopped on the spot.

It has been my one and only bullet in my 7x57Ackley Improved for the last 30 years. Killed more than a few south Texas bucks w/it. powdr

Never had nothing but success with that 140 Ballistic Tip...

They have been shot in my Featherweight 7 x 57, 44 grains of either IMR 4895 or 4064....

almost 2800 fps MV on the nose according to my chronograph... but the deer never knew the difference

shot some today to get the rifle zeroed. final group of 5 was just under 1.2 inches, I pulled the second shot of the group high and left a bit. the other 4 span .48 inches. should be noted that 4 shot group consists of 2 140 NBTs and 2 140 Partitions

It's all I use in my 7x57. My Oehler shows 2850fps with 49 grains of H414 and a magnum primer. So, they should be perfect in your .280

I have a Rem 700 with a 22” Pacnor barrel that I use the 140gr BT’s out of. It shoots very well with 57grn of H4831sc, but I am only getting around 2800FPS. Switched over to RL26 and got slightly better groups and velocity increased to 3100fps.

About 20 years ago a mate shot a pig with the 140 Ballistic Tip from a 20 inch barreled 7mm-08 and blew a hole in it almost the size of a dinner plate. I used the same bullet in my .280 on a fox and literally blew it in half. They must have been very soft back then but I haven't used one since. I have been using the 150gn 7mm which is as tough as, as I haven't stopped one yet in an animal. I'd assume the 140gn has been hardened up in the past 20 years. I generally like Ballistic Tips as they are one of my go to bullets. I have a heap of the 7mm 140s on my shelf so will have to load them up and go 'test. them.

I found them to be very accurate but very soft too. I like the 120 and 150 BT's better.

I shot a wad of them in my first 7mm Rem Mag, trying to reach that mythical 3400fps. I never got to Book Max as I only had a Hornady/Sierra load Manual(s), late 70's. Back in the early 80s I loaded them for a hunt down in Freer, Tx ,but the deer didn't cooperate. I used the Nosler 150PT mostly. Supposedly this was when they were "softer", but for sure they are toughened up now,

I use the 140 NBT in my 280AI and it has been great on whitetail. I did catch one on the off side shoulder just under the hide. Best as I remember it as about 95-100 grains retained weight. Only one I ever caught

I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects

I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....
