Old Shakespeare Kaibab. Snuffer 125 with a 125 steel insert. He went 30 yds and stopped. Tipped over in under 10 seconds, dead in under 30. #tradforlife

Awesome! Any buck with a traditional bow is a trophy in my book!

Wait, I thought there were no bow hunters on this site. And how come you didn’t use some super high speed low drag infrared thermal heat sensing self sharpening don’t ask no questions bout’ my bow hunting expertise new fangled better than everybody else’s gear. Besides everybody knows you can’t kill anything with a bow that was built in the 60’s. I think you’re pulling our leg.

Just kidding of course. Job well done. Shart things could take a lesson.

Thank you all. I shot my first trad buck with that same bow 20+ years ago off the ground. I was using cedars then but the broadhead was the same. There's been a lot of bows in between and several others I love but that Shakespeare just fits me perfectly. I actually bought an exact match to it to keep in reserve in case I ever blow this one up. grin

Congrats! I wish I could that do in Germany. But bowhunting is illegal over here. How old is the bow? Are you the first owner?

Congratulations on your harvest. This is my second year hunting with a traditional bow. Haven’t connected yet but I’m having fun. I’ve missed four nice bucks in the last two weeks all under twenty yards. Traditional archery is a humbling experience to say the least.

Don't give up! Pick a hair, don't drop your bow arm and "peek", and follow through. It is humbling and even really good traditional archers miss sometimes, but when you connect it's a feeling like no other.

Great success, congrats.
I’ve killed many with a wheel bow, but I don’t have the skill that’s needed for traditional archery.

Congrats on a great buck! Love those old Shakespeare bows, they were always way under rated in my opinion. Good Job!

Outstanding! That is a nice buck. Good looking bow. Wish you luck on the next hunt. Trad Hunting is a blast.
I have an old Bear Grizzly I take out sometimes with my home made shafts, stone points for ground hunting on my place.
I took a turkey with it two years back. Just lucky.

Awesome buck and bow! Congrats 👍

After harvesting a Tom with my longbow this year, I’m all horned up to kill a buck with it now 🦌🦌

Very nice. I'm seeing those Shakespeare bows from time to time. May have to pick one up. Any preferred model?

Stan I don't have a lot of history with the Shakespeare line. This one is a X-27 Kaibab and for me, it has THE best grip of any recurve I've shot, and I've shot a lot of them. LOL As a matter of fact I bought an identical bow to this one that's sitting in reserve in case I ever blow this one up. The Shakespeares that I've shot have what I would call a palm swell and fill my hand perfectly. FWIW I've also shot a X-26 Necedah which was a little lighter poundage but basically the same bow.

You might find this link interesting if you are looking at different models.

If you guys haven't tried one of Dan Toelke's Montana Whip bows you really owe it to yourselves to try one, if a feather could fire an arrow, really unbelievable.
