Read the article and what made me cry is that the last owner, had it in New York... and its got NY Plates.

I could see some A Hole rich idiot out driving that beauty in the Snow and Salt....

First job I had full time, was summer maintenance in a Town House Association. We had three pick ups for the job. two 1969s, 4 WD , 4 speed Manual, that Avocado Green color and 427 with 4 barrels under the hood.. one ton 4WDs...

then one 3//4 ton 68 Chevy 4 WD with a 327 with a 4 Barrel under the hood. 4 speed manual. Dark Green. I loved that darn truck. To this day it is my idea of a pick up....
that is the one I was always assigned to.. the other guys wanted the 427 powered 69 models.

I remember your rig from another forum about 7-8 years ago. I feel like it slipped through MY fingers when I couldn't buy it! A perfectly executed trail rig, and the specs and the photos left a permanent file in my brain.

Don't forget about the Toyota FJ's

I owned a 72 Bronco in the late 1980's, I used to brag the turning radius was so good it would turn around in it's own tracks Ha Ha !

we all know.........

Toyoda is where it's at off road...... grin

Yes. I’ve got a 79 FJ restored out in the back shop. Trailering up for a trip down near Milwaukee for some custom engine work on it next week. Getting ready for MOAB next summer.

My ‘70 K5 Blazer was the worst vehicle that I’ve ever owned and haven’t bought a Chevrolet anything since. Short choppy ride, top heavy, underpowered with that 307 ci engine and it used gas like it had a hole in the tank. Star burst rust and cold in the winter with that uninsulated fiberglass top. An absolute bone.

My other auto is a .45

Those and VW buses. If I knew now what I didn’t know then (late 80s-90s) I would have bought them all.

I never understood the popularity of the microbus.

It is a great 4wd large size off road vehicle due to its original design and characteristics, but it is nowhere near worth that price. Not more desired transfer case, no original hard top, rattletrap convertible lid, body dents and rust, poor body fill work in places, added non-original features (aftermarket air, front disc brakes - both of which are better but detract from originality value), tires too wide for good on-road handling. Painted and cleaned it up very nicely and re-did interior for appearance but there are much better specimens out there for less money. I really like these 67 to 72 Chevs/GMs, three Blazers here. Keep shopping.

This is what I did to my 72 Chevy shortbed 4x4 in 1977. Still should have kept it. Ran it up under a gasoline semi tank truck that jacknifed in front of me on I40 just outside of Seligman AZ. Luckily ran right into the landing gear of the tank, if not for that I'd be headless.
