My Father passed a few years ago and I'm finally going to start thinning our combined herd, The hardest part is finding boxes to ship. Where do ya'll fing them?
Winchester 88 in 308 with Burris 3x9 compact. I'd call it excellent original shape, stock does have a few tiny imperfections. The scope has finish worn off from ring as seen in picture #2. 1966 if I remember correctly. $950 plus shipping

I find the cheap $20 hard cases the best way to go.

I agree with 160user. I do have one piece of advice if you do use them though. Do not just stick the shipping label on it and expect it to stay. I almost lost a rifle because the shipper did exactly that and the shipping label came off in transit. I was very lucky because the shipper placed a copy of the FFL inside the case and the shipping company was able to use that to contact my ffl and then they were able to deliver the rifle, with a few extra nicks and dents from improper handling by curious shipping employees but at least I received my rifle. Great looking rifle. GLWS

Especially if you can get them inside their plain cardboard box. That's how I shipped all my guns home from Germany.

I use boxes from Cameron packaging buy 5 at a time and save on the shipping. Great box, thicker than normal corrugated material, locking flaps... a secure box.

Last time i shipped a rifle i bought a hard case off Amazon and used the box it was shipped to me in. You can buy that brown packing tape and tape it up real good to cover all the print on the package.

That’s a nice rifle.

Also check your local gun shop for cast away shipping boxes. I ship in a hard case slipped inside a cardboard box - what the others suggested works great.

Nice rifle!

Yep - your local gun shop has lots of boxes headed to the dumpster and they are usually happy to give them away. The inexpensive plastic Plano type boxes are good as long as you send in a shipping container box.

I just take the gun to my FFL and have him ship it. Comes out cheaper than when I use UPS myself.

When using a hard case I've stopped putting it in an outer box. The UPS folks all know what a box that size means anyway. But I do use enough duct tape from every possible angle/direction that you need a light saber to open it up.
