Local shop has Magpro for reasonable prices. I use it in my 270 wsm and it works well. Just wondering where else you guys use it. I have several rifle cartridges I load, but the 270 wsm is the only one I’ve tried it for. Where do you like it?

Used it in my 243/100 grain bullets with stellar accuracy.

Wondering if it would be good in 6.5-06 or a 6.5 SAUM?

I don't like it honestly, but in an era of shortages it's obviously better than nothing. I'd use it for applications where I could develop the load and then use it at nearly the same temperature, because as little as a 15 degF swing is enough to move a load that was previous on an OBT node off the node. That's rough on field accuracy.

6.5 Saum it's about right. It'd probably be case space limited below about 130gr.

6.5-06 it might be usable with heavies. There are H-1000 and Retumbo loads which are slower powders. It'll definitely be case space limited with lighter bullets.

I use Magpro in my 6.5 PRC, behind 140 gr. Berger VLD bullets. Great accuracy and velocity.

Anyone using it in a 257 Roberts? I have some left after selling my 300 WM and would like to use it somehow.

MagPro works well in 280ai with 160s. 65.0 gives me 2,940fps and 1/2" groups with sierra game kings. During load development, the worst group I shot was 1-1/8". Lit by a WLRM primer, 40F weather. Velocity build was consistent and only varied 20fps per charge weight. I plan on testing 175s as well.

I’m testing it out in .270 Win with 140 gr. Berger VLD Hunter bullets. I plan on trying it out in my 270 WSM as well, and probably my son’s 6.5 PRC in the future.

It's NOT "Ramshot" Magpro.

It's Accurate Magpro, which is a different powder line--also owned by Ramshot until recently, when Hodgdon bought both the Ramshot and Accurate lines.

Magpro gets good accuracy and great velocities in many rounds, but isn't as temperature resistant as some other powders in the same burn-rate range.

I used Accurate Mag-Pro a few years ago to load up 100 rnds of 175s in a 7mm RM for my Son in Law's Ruger 77 MK II. It printed well for hunting purposes with a max book load.

I usually prefer H 4831, H1000, and Ramshot Magnum in my 264 and 7mm STW.
