Bought Keen Targhee II in 2015 Tossed them last year. Bought another pair and they disintegrated after 7 months. Keen sent me another pair. Same shoe and the HURT my feet. I need some better built hikers...

Keen are cheap $140 and USUALLY comfortable.
I like light and water resistant... I don't mind paying for QUALITY !!!!!
What have you found that I should consider???? TIA

Keen here... I like the fit.

If they fail, I whine like a snowflake bitch dude faking a menstrual cycle... and they send me a coupon code for $150-$200.

I then go on their website and buy TWO pairs of some clearance boot or... clearance boot and a sand loafer (add a few $$$ if needed, but typically not much).

Keen got woke... so I wake them every chance I get. Still a good lightweight boot.

Real boots are old school (rebuild-able) Redwings and Nicks...

Lowa Renegades — best boots I’ve worn in a very long life. They are a bit pricey, but you indicated a willingness to pay for quality.

In SC temps anything resistant to water will result in damp socks from sweat. Merrell Ventilators. If it's too cool for damp feet, knee high rubber. Muck.

Bridgedsle Trekker socks are worth the money.

I usually wear polypro sock liners and Smartwool... never have any moisture/sweat problems.

My original Trekker socks are first rate, but have not seen them available for years, and I've been looking,

Very partial to Crispi, just fit me well and pleased with their performance. Picked up a pair of their Thor II hikers and have been very happy with them as well.

Depending on how fussy you are on the term "Hiking" boot?

Do all my hiking in Belleville C390/590's.

Put Hundreds of miles on'em.

They also have lighter weight options.

I also have some Trekker socks and they have been great. I am also unable to find any now. I like Scarpa boots but just lost my new pair in a fire so I'll be looking for another pair. I still have my old Scarpa mountaineering boots which have at least 5000 pretty hard miles on them. I think I'll send them back to Scarpa and see if I can get them rebuilt. GD
