Awesome buck.

Congrats Lee... to both your son and his proud dad.

Love a story with a happy ending.

Good point - I'll do that... He's trying to find a taxidermist who's not backed up so far that they aren't taking any incoming work..

He's still recovering from the Covid crap - couldn't even work today because he's just plain wiped out...

Hoping he mends well and fast.

And happy birthday , and thank you for your service.

The rifle dates to about '71.. I bought it in circa '73 and have hunted with it always.. It's the same rifle he took that nice Muley out in MT. about a dozen years ago; 320 yards, downhill about 15 degrees. One shot, animal dropped in its tracks.. He's always loved that M70 and since I'm mostly done hunting I wanted to give him that rifle for Christmas in 2020.. It's always been my 'go-to' rifle and he always takes it when he goes deer hunting.. He's ( so far) never missed with it..

And thanks to all for the very kind birthday wishes.. This day seems to come around about every six months now.. laugh laugh

Nice buck. Hopefully in a year or two he can look back and say "that was my covid buck, glad that stuff is over with."

Nice mature buck. Doesn't sound like you were there with him but I have a feeling you were the first person he called. That is a great mature buck.

That's a real nice buck. Congrats to your son. Nice job passing along the rifle and teaching your son to hunt. Thanks for sharing.
